This pattern of uniform button was worn by a number of court and civil employ officers: His Majesty’s Household (levee dress), 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Classes; Earl Marshal (Levee Dress); Civil uniform (levee dress), 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th classes; Government of India Officers in civil employ, levee dress, undress, mess dress, hot weather uniform (classes III and IV); Government of Bombay Political Officers, for all classes of uniform; Colonial Service Tropical Uniform, 3rd, 4th and 5th classes.

The Royal Arms (without supporters) surmounted by an imperial crown.
