Default PPCLI Brass TITLES

Can anyone post the correct pattern of brass titles worn by the PPCLI in 1939?

Officer or OR as the officers wore the metal PPCLI and the OR wore the red and white fabric jam labels

Default Service dress titles

Hi Paul,
What I'm looking for are the type of brass titles worn by both the OR';s and the officers prior to being issued battledress in 1939. If the pattern shown was worn by the officers, what was worn by the OR's.

The ORs always wore the jam lables , Unless they wore the dress blues or patrols then the shoulder was the same OFFICER white metal ORS brass.

Did they ever wear a black shoulder title, with white letters?

I picked one up many years ago in a part of England where the Canadians were based during WW2.

I have had this one in my collection at one time and have no knowledge of this use in the regiment and can only put it down to cadets. We only ever used the red and white jam label except for the 1970 green issue when the new uniform came out but this was soon banished by the regiment and is now a rare collector item

Hi Paul

I did asking a serving Canadian officer, a major in the PPCLI, about this flash.

At that time, over 20 years ago, I was told that the PPCLI had never worn a black title.

However, as the title exists, I thought that someone here might know.

Ya it does exist and shows up from time to time , I spent 37 years in the regiment collecting all the time and taking every oppotunity to talk to the vets even did a turn as chief instructor cadets in the province of Alberta so have a good handle on the regiment. One other thought on this shoulder is there was alway experimentals but there are way to many of these black jobs for that so I as pretty sure of the cadet angle.
