Default Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Full Dress Grenade?

Is this a RRF full dress grenade? I've never come across one of these before so not really sure if it's the article.

It's had a bit of polishing to the relief, it's cast and the front has gone a very unattractive copper colour. The reverse still exhibits brass on the highlights which makes me think it has probably been cleaned with vinegar or such like.

If good and deemed worthy of attention, I might spend some time on it with some dilute lime juice to see if I can resurrect a more acceptable brass/gilding metal appearance.

Any views from RRF collectors?
Mark

Yes, worn on the fur cap.
These cast examples (horrible quality but a lovely, shiny copper colour when brand new) were commissioned from a manufacturer in Pakistan, the badges in use at that time being die struck gm and prone to breaking.
I was loitering at The Tower when they arrived around Jan / Feb 1980, and Col Connelly told me about them when they arrived.
I bought a few of them.
When they've turned up occasionally over they've usually been branded as "fakes", just Pakistani repro rubbish but they are pukkah gen, commissioned by the regiment.
It could be that your badge hasn't been polished and is as new on the front, not polished, just poor quality.

Images added, one of those badges I picked up at The Tower of London in 1980, its "as new", never been polished.

Ooh, that is great to know!

The relief looks exactly the same as your brand new one!

I'll leave it as it is then.

You've certainly come up trumps for me these past few days Leigh.

Also used with a red backing on the Pioneer's white leather apron.

And, filled with resin and a brooch attachment fitted, worn on the CO'S Piper's plaid.
