Default Big Request - Empire to Commonwealth Project

Hi All,

I run the Empire to Commonwealth Project on the internet. It's a hobby of mine that I have become thoroughly addicted to (didn't see THAT coming!).

One of the new Chapters that I would like to put on the Project is sweetheart badges/pins. The Project only uses images with permission and I do like to say where we got the badge from too. The entire project is image based.

If you have any images of any sweetheart badges I would be very grateful if you could help by sending me images of these - and of course will accredit you.

Many thanks - and thanks for your help. My email is here. I h ope you can help as I think this could be a very interesting addition to the Empire to Commonwealth Project.

+ Anthony

Hi Ray,

It's coming along ....... I hope!

"Knowlegable man" ..... I wouldn't go that far! I just find it fascinating that there is so much about the British Empire and the Commonwealth in heraldic terms, memorabilia etc etc and I still feel as if I'm scratching the surface.

As it is I'm only brushing the 'Dominions' - and I have very little on other colonies apart from flags - so any help with images is always gratefully received! I still have this BIG 'L' plate on my back!

Hi All,

I have had a couple of people very kindly send me their photographic collection of sweetheart badges, but I still need more to make up a decent 'chapter' in the Empire to Commonwealth Project.

If anyone could send me photographs of their collection (individual badges though please!) , I would be very grateful.

THANK YOU!

+ Anthony

Default Thank you!

Hi Mike,

And thank you! Some of these broaches are really quite intricate ...

At first - before I had seen one - I thought these 'broaches' were just a military version of a Robinson's golly type of thing ... but clearly they really are not and some serious work has gone into them.

Thanks for the photo again.

Hi All,

I want to thank everyone who has sent me photos of their sweetheart badges/brooches for the Empire to Commonwealth project ...

but here's the problem .... people are sending them as 'image101.jpg' or 'front.jpg' ... and I therefore don't know - because I can't identify them ...

Could ye help me please!

If ye could send me photos of your sweetheart badges/brooches again - but with a description of what they are it will enable me to post a chapter of them up on the Internet.

MANY MANY MANY thanks for your help!
