Default Household Cavalry (Other Ranks and Warrant Officers Cap Badges)

Hi Guys,

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the Household Cavalry Other Ranks and Warrant Officers Cap Badges from the 1940 era?

Regards

Chris

My understanding is that WO's cap badges are gold / gold plated whereas OR's are brass / staybright.

Soldiers (ORs) badges are issued in anodised aluminium, whereas the WO badges are of superior quality Gilt (not sure how much gold content?) metal and visualy no different to officers badges! Prior to anodised (mid 1950s) ORs badges would have been in gilding metal!
