Ref the 'gilded metal' 9th Lancers. I have only ever seen this particular one
in white metal - assuming that the photograph was taken in natural light...

The back of the 'gm' 21st doesn't look so hot - from the strike point of
view - it appears to be die-struck and cast at the same time.
However, I only have the 9L and do not possess a 21L. I am sure someone else
will comment about this one.

The 21st is a common fake I am afraid. There was an economy version but it was die struck.

The 17th lancers NCO's arm badge should be in w/m and not brass. It has also been widely faked,

Default widely faked

Hi Jon

I am in agreement with Alan O and David all 21st lancers plus the 17 L are dud just by looking at the Quality of the strike plus the rear of the badges. I wouldn't like to comment on the 27 lancers but if they came from the same source get a refund.

Jon,
IMO all fakes bar one (possibly), your 9th Lancers looks like a Victorian collar, what size is it?
