Default Bedfordshire Yeomanry

Can anyone tell me if the B.Y. cap badge is a larger version of the collar.The attached pair were worn by my father as an ACF adult instructor 4th Cadet Rgt Beds Herts Yeo RA. late sixties early seventies on his number one's.Phil.

I believe the caps and collars were the same size, at least for officers anyway.

I would say you have e pair of OSD collars that have been polished. To the best of my knowledge Beds Yeo adopted the RA cap badge in 1922. Ive never come across any evidence they wore their earlier cap badge again, not even in the ww2 FS cap. [ I would be interested if anyone knows different] Your dad must have worn an RA cap badge.

Thanks Graham,yes he did wear an RA cap badge and polished OSD's would make sense,he must have got the dogs from an old boy,they are a nice pair mind.Regards.Phil.
