R Sigs Auxilliary Military Police beret
Lads
The items pictured were worn by a member of the British Forces Germany, 14 sigs. For a 6 month period covering early 92, i know a chap who served as an Auxilliary Military Policeman (Used as a visual deterrent against terrorism to aid RMP patrols, and to cover low incidents between the 2 Regiments in the town he was based. The patrols were mixed between members of the 2 Regts. Members attended a course, and were then allowed to wear the MP brassard. On this occasion he had to purchase his own GERMAN BUNDESWEHR berets which were worn with the Regimental cap badge - his R Sigs. Hope these pics are of interest? Jon,
I served at RAF Bruggen 91 - 94 and have made many cups of tea for the AMP from 16 Sigs Krefeld. They used to stop in while out on their patrols...slightly off their area but what the hell. They did indeed wear the red beret with Signals badge and MP armband. Takes me back Bill |
