The East Kent yeomanry is a very 'alien' looking horse and not of the quality that I would want. The Notts and lancasters are both wrong. The Hants/Dorsets and the ERE (not a Yeomanry at all) are not good either.
The 'England' plaque on the Yorkshire dragoons is a 1970's restrike mark and the Scottish horse is a common restrike as well. The Lovats is supposed to be nigh on 100 years old. Not a chance. The Yorkshire Hussars has the fake Gaunt mark on it. Offer a tenner at most. Last edited by Alan O; 01-10-09 at 01:51 PM. |

Yeomanry Badges
If I'm reading Alan's reply correctly and aligning with the photographs I have to disagree ref Hants / Dorset / ERE although I agree that the quality is suspect. However, I read Hampshire Carbineers as KK 1440 / Dorset Yeo as KK 1446 / 1st Royal Devon Yeo as KK 1453.

I agreed totally with Alan. I can't see a decent badge there, even the shoulder titles look like cast copies with the same tooling marks to the rear.

While the front of the Dorsets appears to match K&Ks example, I would suggest that a genuine one has been used to make a mould for a cast copy. The reverse is so appaling then if that it a genuine badge then I am a Dutchman.
