Default Question about Royal Dragoons.

A simple question to all British colleagues. Which badge was worn during world War II by the 1st Royal Dragoons, KK 751 or KK 1892 ??? According to KK # 1893 was only worn starting 03/49.
According to Wilkinson, KK751 is from 1902-1936 and, KK1892 is post-1936 ???

So, who's right ????

Default Royal Dragoons

A very good question, the Royal Dragoons according to John Gaylor wore the Royal crest with QVC and KC plus title scroll until WWI when they had a small eagle badge this was worn until 1919 when the Royal Crest KC with title scroll was again worn until 1948 when a larger eagle badge was worn until 1969 when they mergerd with the Royal Horse Guards.

So I think the Royal crest with title scroll seems likely.

Smile Royal Dragoons

Jo, just to back up my reply as to which badge was worn during WWII, I have been through my library and found a copy of "Badges and Emblems of the Services" this little booklet was printed in 1940 by N.A.G. press. On page 9 is a line drawing of the badge with Royal Crest and title scroll, the Colonel in chief was none other than H.M. The King.

I believe this little booklet has been reprinted and is a useful reference work for all WWII badges, it also has a small amount of Colonial badges illustrated.
