Default KC Royal Tank Regiment - Non Voided Crown

My question is: Are there any REAL RTR Kings Crown badges with a non-voided crown?

I believe there are at least 15 different OR RTR badges to collect, I am trying to collect them all but was wondering if I should steer clear of non-voided?

Thank you.

Default NON VOID CROWN

It is possible to have a A/A badge with a non void crown. I used to own a Royal Engineer A/A badge where the ER was partly non void and on investigation it was found to be a maker error that slipped through quality control. I beleive it was a JR Gaunt badge.

Thank you for the reply Jerry.

I apologise for not being specific enough. I was refering to the white metal Kings Crown badge.

The Parachute Regiment wore a non voided and voided crown that was manufactured during WW2 I was wondering if it was the same for the RTR?

Perhaps someone can confirm with a veteran obtained example in their collection?

Hi, the only non-voided crown that I have is a Middle East or Indian cast brass, but another example of the same badge has the crown voided so I assume it is just a casting flaw. What are the 15 identified types? What are the identifying features? I tend to use the front track tensioner, the rear radiator cover and the three cupola. Mike

Hi, looked through my badges and found 6 different dies, are you counting the different dies or variations of fittings? i.e. slider, lugs, style of lugs and/or variations of finish? i.e. plated brass, brass, white metal, low grade silver, etc. Mike

Hi, just picked up the non voided crown RAC. In fact two versions, they came from an old boys collection of badges, no pedigree but the rest seemed right. One is plated brass the other looks and feels as if it was chromed but the lugs aren't. On it's own I would have said it was a repro, who knows. Enjoy. Mike
