Def. "RCYC". Could be Royal Cowes Yacht Club.

Default old english font

Hi Ray,
It looks like 'old english' font to me. There is a slight difference between letters 2 & 4. I read it as R T Y C and this design was worn by the Royal Thames Yacht Club. there are two designs shown in Gwen Squire's book - one with QVC, the other with KC. But, according to another button collector, there were 3 designs with QVC, the one you have, and two where the anchor extends between the letters to almost meet the base of the crown. This latter design was worn with both a plain rim and a roped rim.
Regards, Tony

The button is, indeed, Royal Thames Yacht Club. Confusion has been with the second letter, which is a 'T' - not a 'C' - remember the banner of the Daily Telegraph ? The 'T' is from the same font. GD
