Default 42nd CEF

Officers solid silver glengarry badge.
The front of this badge has been so lovingly polished that only the Y of forty and the S of second are discernable on the top scrolls, and the L of royal and the C of Canada on the bottom. Scrolls made seperatly and riveted on, four silver lugs to the rear not hallmarked but has McDougalls London impressed
mark inside an oval. Silver cotter pin holding on the gilt overlay which has been polished back to base metal. Very hard badge to find.
Officers collar badge silver hallmarked Birmingham 1918 with Bent & Parker stamp. Lugs have been removed and a flimsy brooch fitting has been added.
Again a very rare badge.
Ron.

Only seen a few of these over the years, they are indeed scarce.

The condition makes me wonder if this was worn well into the post WWI period.
