Hello Monty
Some lovely 'sweethearts', thanks for showing. According to Pamela Caunt's books on Military Sweethearts, the 'S&Co' is for Sydney & Co, first registered in 1902 and 'F.R.G' is Frank R Gomm, first registered in 1912. 'C&A' is Corke & Apthorp, first registered in 1918. Can't find the other maker's mark listed. Roger Last edited by Cribyn; 11-03-16 at 10:26 AM. Reason: Additional info. |

Gordon Highlanders Trinket box
The only example I have. Its hallmarked but no city mark.It is most likely to be Birmingham "t".It is marked by the silver smith "F.S.E,These are very rubbed. Its not to say they did the inlay work.

Thanx for the date info Monty.
I looked up the code and thought 1940 was too new but 1880 was too old! Interesting this was still being made during the 40's. Now I can correctly ID it when I move it on. |

The RASC badge in the first post dates from after 1936 with the GviR cypher.
