Fake Britain- BBC1 today militaria
Not yet on BBC i Player but this mornings programme "Fake Britain " included some fake militaria which included a flying Log Book and some RFC engraved items.
Not sure if the programme is a repeat ( most other programmes on the box seem to be ) but worth a look and certainly provides some food for thought. P.B.

I think it is a repeat as I saw it last summer (May/June) when I was visiting family. Still, an interesting show.

Fake Britain
Yes, I'm sure I saw it last year, a guy at work came in a told me about it and it seemed familiar. I think they only scratched the surface with mainly aviation items mentioned, if they started on cap badges they could have made an epic lasting longer than many soap operas.

Thanks David and Rob,
This is a link to the programme ( I hope ) : http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...es-4-episode-5 The thing that struck me ( which was also the same with a Liverpool Scottish sword with fake engraving that was doing the rounds a year or so ago ) was that it was not the items themselves that aroused suspicion in the first place but rather historical inaccuracies that put the items under closer scrutiny than would perhaps otherwise have been the case. P.B.
