THIS IN FROM CANADA -- UPDATE ON FRANKIE BOY
Good day gents,
Seeing as the "Anti-Walting Petition" thread was locked, I thought I'd let you know the latest on Franck Gervais, the guy caught last November impersonating a Canadian Forces soldier at the Remembrance Day service in Ottawa. Gervais appeared in an Ottawa court and plead guilty to two counts of unlawfully wearing a military uniform and medals. Two other counts of impersonation will be withdrawn during his May court appearance for sentencing. Will keep you posted. Ian

If this fellow's crime was getting a bunch of attention he didn't deserve, don't threads like this just further perpetuate the crime?
Put another way - does this really warrant ALL CAPS and anyone's breathless attention? I get the impression he needs some counselling from a mental health specialist, not a public whipping. It's not like he killed anyone. How times have changed. When a "Walt" showed up on HMCS Cayuga during the Korean War and claimed to be the ship's surgeon, Tony Curtis made a movie about him...

Mike, I see your point and to a degree I agree with you. However, I believe that - "Justice must not only be done, It must be seen to be done." You see or hear maybe 20 seconds on the news and then no more. So I'll post the results of his sentencing in May just to keep everyone in the loop.
Sorry if I sounded excited about this, like Gervais was really going to get rogered. Just trying to inject a bit of levity. Guess it was misplaced. Ian
