Default St David's Day - Traditions

Firstly, A Happy St.Davids Day to all Welsh members
I believe that some Welsh Regiments take to wearing a Leek in their Headress today, it would be interesting to know of any other traditions throughout the British Army on celebratory/comemorative days.

Diwrnod Hapus Dewi Sant i fy holl frodyr yng Nghymru.

I think each Welsh Regiment has its own traditions, I couldnt describe them in detail though.

Default traditions

Hi Paul, The Irish guards and the Royal Irish Regiment both wear a sprig of shamrock in their caps on St Patricks day 17th March, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers wear red and white roses to celebrate St Georges day 23rd April. they are also one of five regiments to wear red & yellow Minden roses to celebrate the battle of Minden on 1st August. the other regiments are the Royal Anglian regiment, the King's own Scottish borderers, the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment, and the Light Infantry. the Royal Welch Fusiliers do not celebrate this victory however they are entitled to. regards john

Queen's Royal Hussars also wear shamrock on Paddy's Day. Usually presented by Prince Philip.
