What are the top ten most rarest cef badges in your opinion
Hello Everyone!
I just thought I throw this out for everyone to add there 2 cents worth in. On what are the top 10 most rarest CEF badges out there? In your opinion as a CEF Badge Collector! The 10 most rarest infantry battalion badges 1 through 260. Your top ten most rarest Corps Badges would be a separate list. I am very interested what the picks from 6-10 will be? I'll put my list up shortly ! |

Ok, I'll go (ignoring rare variations and interim badges, ORs only):
1. 9th 2. 247th 3. 252nd 4. 250th 5. 248th 6. 259th/260th 7. Actual Canadian-made 231st 8. 246th 9. 243rd 10. 251st 11. 114th (special addition just for you Rob! ) The last four were pretty tough to decide - not sure I'd come up with the same list every time... If you include rare variations, the list would be probably be filled with Reiche patterns - 3rd, 10th, etc.) and badges like 92nd draft. Cheers, Ian. |

CEF Ranking...
Interesting exercise. Similar choices for the first five, but the second five will be interesting. The first five will probably vary in the ranking. Here is my stab at a list:

JJ, You have opened up a can of worms.
The infantry battalion badges are much easier to rank, but the corps badges are extremely difficult. Many of the badges in that category may be one off's. The 3rd Tank Battalion is an example of an extremely rare badge. I think I have only ever seen two for sale, and that may have been the same badge sold twice. |

I knew that would get you going Bill Sorry if this post is just infantry only Ive been waiting almost a year for someone to show some of the Tank Battalion badges on forum, I couldnt contain myself any longer!
We do sometimes see the 1st Battalion badges for sale here with UK dealers. The last cap badge and matching set of collars was sold for 150 pounds which I think was very reasonable, I wish I had bought them! So far Ive only ever managed to find a 1st Battalion collar out of a junk box for 1 pound
