Photograph – mixed regiments
Can anyone identify the likely purpose of the group photo of soldiers from various regiments in the attached WW1 photo please – apologies for the quality, but it's the best I have?
I thought that they might be at a convalescent centre, but as none of the soldiers seem to have a physical injury, could they could be on some sort of training course?
There are at least seven soldiers wearing uniforms of Scottish regiments, and as the trees seem to be Scots Pine, I wondered if the photo was taken in Scotland.
The soldier of particular interest is in the centre of the back row, and his cap badge (see attached photo) shows that he was in the Army Ordnance Corps.
Thank-you
