Default Tiptaft

What is the history of Tiptaft makers? Did they continue to make badges during the inter-war period and into the Second World War?

Should it help with the firm's history, here are the marks registered with the Birmingham Assay Office for J.W. Tiptaft/J.W. Tiptaft & Son Ltd.:

James Walter Tiptaft also entered his mark with the Chester Assay Office from the address of 25, Northampton Street, Birmingham, on the 30th April 1904. His private address at the time of the Chester registration was 22, Whately Road, Handsworth, Staffs.
