Thailand UN badge
Hi,
I wondered if anyone could tell me more about this badge. I've been looking for a Thai Korean War badge - which is identical, except it is blue text on white, rather than the other way around. When does this type date from? They seem to be pretty common in their "official" version. Hopefully the pic works this time.

Well I would say that it is definitely theatre-made, but could in theory have been made in any country to which Thailand was a troop contributing nation on a UN operation.
There should be a listing of such countries somwhere, which would narrow the field. Alternatively the blue/white or white/blue difference could just be a 1950s local production error? |

I would tend to agree with you. However, there does seem to be an official version of the patch too, which is different in both construction and colour to the Korean War model.
Could there be a Vietnam connection as many of the sellers of these badges imply? The UN logo would seem to argue against this though.

Ah, thanks to Voltigeur's website, I've found it. It seems to just be the UN overseas deployment patch. 1960 (?) - present
