Default Commando Gunners

Hot off the press: This is the commemorative medal produced by the Commando Gunners for their 50th Anniversary in July 2012. The Anniversary will be celebrated in the Royal Citadel, Plymouth 20-22 July 2012.

It would have been better to have 29&95 as there is no 29/95 Cdo Regt RA.

Have you any idea if the Maritime Royal Artillery was ever commemorated by a medal or something? Darn shame if not!

Default 29/95

I would have taken 29/95 to mean 29 Bty 95 Regt

Thanks Roger.
My good friend Phil Barber, former 6th Regiment, had shown me a photo of a citation like that.
Here's an article from Malta on the subject that might interest you: http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles...t-ships.385252

That is correct -the oblique stroke was an unfortunate error on the part of the former member of one of the two regiments whose initiative this medal was.
But I purchased one anyway.
