RAF sweetheart or something else

Some opinions on this RAF badge please. Appears cast with a gilt wash and brooch pin.

Hi Steven,

I would say its a sweetheart brooch. The small piece of chain on the tail is the remains of a safety chain, a back up in case the main pin fails.

I'd agree. Also, you dont tend to see solid backed issue badges.
