The name of this forum is the British & Commonwealth Military Badge Forum, I'm not aware of any British or Commonwealth Military Badges bearing a swastika. Yours would be a first.

Mystery badge
Many apologies I didn;t even see the symbol on the bottom as it is blacked out. I apologise for any offence I may have caused and have removed the picture. it came with some LRDG stuff and I wondered if it might be connected.

Just stating the obvious. My knowledge of German items is severely limited by choice, but the palm tree might suggest a 'loot' connection with the LRDG. The additional info fleshes out the post somewhat. I'm no moderator here, nor would I want to be one, so as far as I'm concerned feel free to re-post the image in light of the additional info.

Mystery badge
G'day, I'll just describe it in the hope that one of the experts on the forum might be able to shed some light. The badge is surrounded by a laurel wreath and the item is dated 1943. It is oval in shape and has a palm tree and a rising sun rising over what appears to be sand. The offending swastika appears to be blacked out and appears at the bottom of the badge, which is why I missed it until it was pointed out to me.

I think Jon is correct, saw the pic earlier but by the time I'd got my books out it had been deleted. They were a German special forces unit that served in North Africa Lee |

Jon188 has already sorted it out, but you can read more about the unit here:
