Default Strange helmet

It's a civvy flying or motoring helmet. Lewis were arguably the largest producers from the twenties onwards. It's hard to pin down a date as they produced the same styles for years. I'd hazard a guess its late 1940s. With the earcovers its more likely aimed at a flying helmet, but could equally have been worn for motoring. If you could find a Lewis catalogue it would probably narrow down the style and date.
