Default 7th Queens Own Hussars

Can any let me know whether this particular badge was produced with a N/S slider and/or E/W lugs. I think the badge is ok as I have had it for long time...
and even though the lugs are not quite dead horizontally aligned.
I do have a QC version from a very reliably source with a very long slider and
have also seen the badge pictured with a (shortish) slider as well - which is confusing.
Thanks for your help,

David

The vertical slider was authorised for use in 1903 (but took several years for widesprerad use). Victorian badges and most early Edwardian badges should not be found with anything other than lugs (pagri badges being an exception).

Thanks Alan. I assume that the badge itself is ok.

David,

Unfortunately I collect post 1908 but I would expect to see a row of brasing holes behind the cypher if it was a Victorian one. I have a WW2 era one with several brasing holes on the reverse.

Thanks Alan, looks like another one for the bin then.
Must watch out for these brazing holes. Getting too old for this.

Just had a quick peek at my QEII 7QOH - you are correct about the sweat holes, this one has a very long slider and 3 of them.

Hello Phil, what you have here is the Polish 2nd Corps patch worn by the Polish troops in exile in the Italian theatre of operations. As for authenticity, well I will leave that to more knowledgeable fellow members

It was certainly worn by the Queen's Own Hussars, taking it from 7H.

Default maid of warsaw

Hi All

See link http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...read.php?t=263 . Today being worn by an Aircorp regt and of course The Queen's Royal Hussars. I also believe worn at some point by one of The household Cav regt's.

Default 7th Hussars

Hi All,

Maybe someone out there has the info I am looking for on the attached 7th Hussars NCOs arm badge. Note this has a yellow background not the normal scarlet.
Why is it in Yellow ? , what dress would it have been worn on ? .

Thanks in advance
