RAF cap badge?
Hello,
I acquired this badge in a group of medals recently. This is not my area of collecting, so I am hoping someone can help me with some information. What time period is it from? I assume it is a cap badge but its that correct? What is it's approximate value? Any help is greatly appreciated. Chris |

Hi,
This is a nice cap badge worn by non officer ranks in the RAF. Worn post WW1 upto 1952. They are not rare badges. Value is only around 5 pounds I am afraid to say. Although, the slider is a little unusual, they are more commonly found with lugs. Regards, Phil

As stated, unfortunately the slider cant really be pinned down to any specific date within that time frame..

This slider looks to have been added as the crown looks nearly burnt off.
But there is no obvious trace of the lugs. I too have never seen a slider on this badge. Eddie |

Hi,
I have see these before (with the slider), I think this one never had lugs, as I cant see where they would have been, but my eyes are not what they used to be!, as for value I would agree £5-£10. Nice unusual badge though BM |

They do come up, but I would put the slider down to manufacturer rather than a date or pattern thing.
