1919 (Daily mail GOLDEN) one schilling
Ha! you might ask why am I posting this on the Forum gone mad you might think!! not too far wrong, The above is dated Monday 30th June 1919! not a date that sticks in your mind? this is the offical Peace treaty signing and the above is full of World War 1 momentious occassions death rolls and the like, its also FRAGILE and wary of doing damage to it as I turn the page apparently called Golden as was printed in Gold (not that I can see it now?) a very interesting item but how to keep it intact? any help most welcome? where can I best place such an item is it rare or common? could the Daily Mail reprint this in its entirity? questions i would love answered and loads more not thought about, would love to share this with the Forum members but again don,t know how to, may contact the Daily mail see what there opinion is? this has come down from my wife Great-grandfather who once worked for the Daily Mail found whilst clearing out her Nan,s house years ago and recently coming to light, if I can do something to put this on the Forum I will this thread is a bummer without Photo,s but any help would be welcome thanks billy
just been told why this was called Golden, this is because it was printed in Gold-Leaf and if you had a shilling (Quite a lot in those days!) it was yours!
