Nine weeks !!!!!
The world has lost its way when television programmes are devoted to the likes of Peter Andre ( whatever he is famous for ) and Desperate Scouse Wives, but when a nine week prison sentence ( half that with good behaviour I presume ) is given to this man:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...yside-16199742 we really have lost the plot. P.B.

Nothing that really shocks me PB from what my parents tell me when we chat every week on the down turn in respect for our past.
I often wonder if the Government should establish the equivalent to penal regiments for use in lost causes around the world (similar to the French Foreign Legion), and give these reprobates the "opportunity".... to earn their own plaque on a wall for "falling in the line of Duty" Simon. P.S., I don't think anyone would miss them. |

He should do a thousand hours unpaid, cutting grass for the commonwealth wargraves commission, (he may then see error in his ways)

Nine weeks
Peter,
As his time is less than 6 months he'll probably do most of that time in a proper prison, not an open farm. As for penal battalions, do you think we currently have sufficient NCO and kit to knock these yobs into a force we could use without endangering our real servicemen? If he was sent grass cutting I'm not sure the current standards would be maintained, and it would probably be an excuse for someone to lay off a real CWGC groundsman. Bring back the stocks & cat o,nine tails! Stephen. |

Rod Serling's Revenge
P.B.,
Point him towards some of the unexploded ordinance left laying around over there. Be sure he is aware of the high scrap value of each item. Give him a 28 oz. hammer and tell him that if the item rings when he hits it then it has extra high value. This also insures that the item is safe to deal with. It may take several strikes before he gets a true indication of the item's value, and several more to make certain that it is truly safe to proceed. If he succeeds in cashing in one of Uncle Adolf's calling cards be sure to handsomely reward him and point him to the next one. Sounds like something out of the Twilight Zone really. Don

Peter,
I am afraid that because his sentence is so short and the need for Cat B & C places in closed conditions he is far more likely to be re catogarised to Cat D and spend is sentence in open conditions.I'm afraid the law is still an ass. Bantam. Nodolig Llawen Pawb/Merry Christmas everyone. Quote:

Things that bad nowadays Bantam?
Surely with such a short sentance they could just leave him banged up in his local. Peter: |

The only saving grace about this is he now has a criminal record, which hopefully will screw up his life.
