War Munitions Volunteer Badge
I seem to remember reading that some munitions factories produced their own bagdes. Not sure how true this is - would anyone have any info?
Here is quite a nice Gaunt-made example: DSCF4249.jpg DSCF4253.jpg DSCF4198.jpg With thanks, Peter. |

Hi Peter
They certainly did! actually I don't know if the factories did them themselves but certainly badges were made for private companies by Fattorini and HB Sale, etc. I love them and have probably about 40 plus of them..... |

Hi Peter, I think this one was produced by the factory. ICI Bombardiers. I have been told on here that the ICI had some connection to the Z rockets, most probably they made them as they had a huge factory in Birmingham where my family were during the war. The background is the actual launcher.
The description for the image is HOME GUARD/ICI 1939-45 Z Rocket battery-BUX 101/Blackers Bombards. |
