Default Argyll & Sutherland Glengarry Badges

Hi Guys,

On eBay being sold by 'Buy Now' are some Argyll & Sutherland Glengarry Badges

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCOTTISH-ARGYL...item58870f77a9

Although a bit on the pricy side for an A&S badge I believe that these are early made items that have been lying around at the factory as 'stock on hand' before being packaged up in modern times (2003).

I have purchased and examined one of these badges and recommend purchase if you are looking for early 'fuller back' examples with earlier rounded wire and sweeping feet lugs.

Note that the seller who obviously has no idea about the importance of packaging will break the badge packet open to attach the badge lugs to cardboard for sending. This is OK if you don't want the original package in first class condition but if you do point out that you don't want the bag bust up by the packing gorilla.

Further note that I have absolutely no relationship with the seller and am posting here for forum members interest only.

Regards

Chris

Seller seems to be Stuart Gardiner, a London Dealer, I think.

Used to buy a few things from his stall downstairs in Angel Islington many years ago and in more recent times have had one or two items thru Ebay. Seems to be a good seller and I never had anything from him except very good service.
