just got this royal irish regt sweetheart on mop.just wanted your views if it was ww1 or earlier

I believe that these 'pearly' ones are from WWI rather than WWII. I have a couple which were passed down to me from this period and are in this style.

Hi Philip,
Very nice indeed! I had one of these for the Connaught Rangers, which is now in their museum in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. It's on one of my albums if you have a bit of a trawl.

In my novice state, I'd have thought it was WW1 - as it wasn't long before the Irish Free State was born .....
