Default Regiment ID?

Is anyone able to help me to identify the regiment this family member belonged to?
All I know is that his surname was Archer & he lived in Hebburn, Co. Durham

A&SH, KOSB or Tyneside Scottish? Location not always an indication of Regiment in time of need!

No dicing on the Glengarry so perhaps not A&SH or KOSB unless a piper?

Looking at the size of the badge, lack of dicing and location and provenance of sitter it is a likely supposition that he is indeed Tyneside Scottish.
