On original packaging!
Just back from a trip to the Western Front and saw these two for sale in different spots. I've never seen the like in their original packing and thought them well worth sharing. Before you ask, I can't remember the prices!

In the same vein.... I got this yesterday (not for the price on eBay either)
Last time I saw one of these it was for sale in a London shop for over £300.

The second picture with badge on a JR GAUNT card. This is a typical card used by them for British Legion/ Royal British Legion badges and IMO this has been "made up" to sell the badge. Please see picture of carded badges from BL/RBL

Interesting info re the badges and cards etc but more importantly John, how did your trip go ?
Did you have a good time ? was it as you had expected ? How long were you over there ? Regards. Dave. |

Well spotted JP. To be fair, I didn't really pay a lot of attention to them, but thought they would provide an interesting contribution! I would say the DLI one is probably not the original backing, but I think the Middlesex one looks good. John |

Even later than 1952, because the card includes the Post Code. Post Codes were introduced in the UK in 1959.

Liverpool Regiment Sweetheart - Button in Wreath
Pretty sure this one is on original card. Description is interesting:
Liverpool Regiment - Gold Plated - Best Quality - Actual Button as worn by Officers

GGA,
Fascinating, I have an example of this sweethearts and had presumed someone had taken a button to a jewellers and had it mounted as a sweethearts brooch and gilded. Very interesting that it was made as a sweethearts brooch and to be able to see how it was originally marketed. P.B.
