Two Artists Rifles for consideration
Hello all
Recently had a clear out of my desk and found an Artists Rifles badge in a box ((it is the one on the left side of the photo). Next to it I have the badge that is in my London Regiment collection. My first question is, are both the real deal? (As far as I can tell from my research they both are) My second question is, which one would you keep? Which version would have been more commonly worn during the 1st World War? Would like a confirmation as to authenticity as I would like to trade the surplus badge (pending confirmation) As always, many thanks for your help Ron |

The w/m one on the right hand side looks correct. I would have reservations about the other brass one. The 'Artists Rifles' badge was the one commonly worn in WW1 but as the thread explains they Artists scroll was also in use. |

Thank you CC and Alan for the prompt repjy. Well I guess the brass one will go into the bin now and not for trade!
I will keep the w/m one for now but might try and obtain an earlier period one Many thanks for your help Ron |
