The first is a Yorkshire Dragoons cap badge, I think from the photograph it may be OK, the second a Cavalry Regiment arm badge???? But not sure which Regiment.

The eagle badge purports to be connected to the Royal Irish Fusiliers and has been discussed many times on the Forum.

The 2nd is an out and out fake, the first doesnt look good to me either, sorry.

i'm not surprised about the RIF but thought the YD was going to be a good one.
i know Frank you say they look new but its just the pic, the YD looks old to me.

I would not junk the YD as they sell for a lot of money with the S&W mark. It's a badge that has been widely restyuck and faked and being single metal hard to tell when the original dies may have been used.

Exactly. In some cases the incorrect style of slider has been used. One of the early restrikers who used original dies had sliders that were very flat metal with wide necks and quite tapered and modern repro ones from ebay are genuinely recognisable. However there are plenty of old repro sliders that are no longer being made so aren't in great amounts, that are not immediately identifiable.

The eagle badge is without doubt an N.C.O.s arm badge of an Irish Cavalry Regiment. I just can not bring the regiment to mind at the present. 008

The badge represents the eagle of the 8th Infantry, captured by the 87th Foot.
