The King's (Liverpool Regiment) Collar Badges c1882-1896

Regular battalion other ranks’ collar badges in gilding metal. The heraldic red rose of Lancaster over a scroll inscribed ‘King’s’.
These replaced the existing prancing white horse collars in 1882. These new badges were unpopular with the men who described them as ‘cow-pats’. The regiment eventually reverted to the white horse badges in 1896.
