
Plain raised rim containing a horizontally lined field. An oval garter inscribed ‘Royal Irish Constabulary’ with an imperial crown above; in the centre shamrocks and a harp. Buttons are blackened with burnished high points.
The succeeding ‘Royal Ulster Constabulary’ design was similar with the appropriate inscription change.
