Default Some badges to run by you

Hi all, may I have your thoughts on these (left Flash on, pictures crap, sorry) will post better if needed!

British Asian Rgt, feel free no idea on this though do like the badge!

The 1st Volunteer Btn. Royal Berkshre, marked B.P. & Co. Ld. B, HAM (Appearance is brand new), Not happy with this

Royal Munsters slider appears to be Silver Solder in truth, can see to rear where a scroll is stamped cannot quite read it? "ROYAL (could be munsters" ? Tiger is proud of badge, flat not shaped thin tiger though, thoughts welcome? Think it wrong but don't want ti throw a good badge!

O/K how faked is this badge!!!
8th Bn P.W.O. West Yorkshire Rgt.
Left I like, slider tapered and slight crimp mark with good Patina.
Middle on Slider (don't like the slider?)
Right end, on lugs ??? Bad sign this? Thought these only slidered?

Could be these are all wrong but please confirm good or bad! Many thanks Billy

The Berlks VB was always lugged.

The 8th Yorks did have a pre-war version with a void under the crown but it was not that die and has a wire reinforced. The lugged ones with voids are always fakes.

Munsters is one that might be a WW1 sub contactor one but its poor quality.

I agree with Alan.

That B.P. mark wrong and very fake. My Berks V.B.’s is looped with a short brass stud post, as is sometimes encountered. The construction of the badge itself is also incorrect.

The metal of the British Asian Squadron King’s Colonials is all wrong, as is the voiding and loop positions. Originals are looped E-W similar to early 19th Hussars and the voids are very fine and precise, note the trunk turn and the palm leaf shape. Here’s my genuine one.

I agree they are impressive badges (like most Kings Colonials).

The RMF may be a theatre made badge, I’ll leave it to the cast badge connoisseurs to decide which theatre and when.

Nice badge Luke and though I do like the colour on the one I have would rather have yours! So! I can't go wrong then! Will Fettle this badge and will post the Asian badge later, the Munsters iffy? But perhaps theatre made? Think thats a BIG! Theatre made? Thanks for the help Billy

The Munster is not a cast badge. One can see the die struck edges of the grenade and flames not present on cast badges. I don't know what to say about it, but the slider is not what is typically seen on fakes.

To me, the RMF does appear to be cast.

It has been cast from a die stamped badge.

I’m quite confident in saying it will have the WM tiger held in place by a pin.

My view is it’s cast from an original but whether it’s period and genuine or a later Azam’s-esque creation I’ll leave to others.
