Default Girl in Liverpool Scottish Uniform

Attached is a photo of a youg lady wearing her boy friends or brothers LIverpool Scottish uniform for the Photo. I also have a photo of a Liverpools Scottish soldier whose wife of girlfriend is wearing a dress of the units ( Forbes ) tartan with cap badge worn as a brooch. I wonder how common this was around WW1 ?

Oh very common. My mother was WRAC Signals and collected cards of Women in uniform. She had 1000's and a good percentage from WWl. A hell of a lot of them just girlfriends / wives in their mens uniforms and it wasn't just this country there was a lot of German girls wearing the stuff too!

Default WW1 soldier with obscelete cap badge

Very interesting photo of a Liverpool Scottish soldier in WW1 wearing the glengarry badge of the 8th ( Scottish ) Volunteer battalion rather than the
10th ( Scottish) Battalion cap badges introduced in 1908- just shows WW1 soldiers often wore whatever badges were available.
Also of interest is the broken shoulder title now just T/10 the Liverpool/Scottish parts no longer being present.

Very interesting pics. He seems to be a stretcher bearer too. I had also never seen such cases of women showing solidarity with their men by wearing uniforms and tartan dresses etc. Thank you for posting.
