Default Current 'The Australian Army' Patches

Attached is a scan of some Australian patches I acquired recently. I would welcome any information on them such as who wears them, where they are worn on uniform (one sleeve or both), what the difference between the rectangular one and the ovals ones is, and what the significance of the various coloured backgrounds is. Also, are these all the different colour variations?

You do not yet have:
-Black on green camo (DPCU) background.
-Black on desert cam background.
-yellow on black/dark green (cant tell from the pic if you have the black or very dark green vairiation)
-There is also a gold braid on black one too.
-Cadets also have their own types, but not with the rising sun as the main feature.

This is from rough memory, others may have a better definition.
Pale khaki for general service dress "Polys"
White: Cooks, Mess dress jackets.
Black: Cooks jumpers.
Red: Bandsmen (and dark green too?).
Cam and desert cam on field uniforms.
Lt brown is the early cam type, no longer used.
Square went on the poly shirt, but now replaced by oval.
All worn on left sleeve shoulder, 1cm down from the top of the shoulder seam.

Cheers,
Matthew.

They are the standard army Rising Sun patches.

Worn by all Australian soldiers and the different colours are for different uniforms (polyester, DPCU, mess dress etc etc).

More info here:

Default Current 'The Australian Army' patches

Thank you gentlemen for your very prompt and informative replies. I had an idea this is what they were, but rather than guessing, I thought I would get some factual information on them.
Thanks also for the link to the Australian Standing Orders for Dress, Mick, as this shows them in wear, and will be a useful reference link for the future.
Incidentally, the dark one in my scans is a dark green background. I also see I have one or two more colour variations to try to get in the future.
Do either of you know roughly when they changed from the original Rising Sun patch, on the scroll of which was 'Australian Military Forces'?
Thanks again.
