A VERY NICE GLIDER PILOTS PHOTO
HI good afternoon ,
I was up at the EDEN CAMP museum again last week and spotted a photo i had not seen before . In the medal room thee was a studio photograph of : S/SGT CYRIL PEARSON GLIDER PILOT REGT /A.A.C wearing the following insignia. Airborne forces `maroon ` beret with white metal AAC badge he was dressed in the 1922 pat service TUNIC ( the ones similar to the first war tunic with 4 front pockets ) cloth glider pilot Rgt one piece title with cloth numeral below ,it looked like the no. 2 brass `R.E` titles to shoulder strap , brass `R.E ` tunic buttons. cloth quailfied glider pilot breast wings sgt cheverons with brass grenade above . printed pegasus formation sign printed Airborne strip . All in all a very nice image with a very interesting mix of insignia worn on an unusual tunc. Now heres the ` rub` did not have me camera that day...... Am up there again in a week or so will try to get a photo for you glider types ,regards ,Michael. |
