Default Special Service HQ patches

New to the forum and this is my first post. I have a very modest collection of Commando/Special Forces insignia. The only thing smaller than my collection is likely my knowledge..!

I have here two Special Service HQ patches. Patch A (top) is a bullion patch identical to the one in Peters book, so I’m pretty confident about this patch. Patch B (bottom) is a printed version. The patch is not modern and shows some age and is somewhat fragile, not easily shown in the photograph. It doesn’t glow under UV and I have never seen another one.

Has anyone seen a printed version before? Comments and observations most welcome.

Cheers, Roy.

Good morning hello Roy ,
sorry , to be honest i have serious doubts about both badges ,the bullion thread is unusual and the printed badge is not ( i.m.o )made from war time materials or uses the correct period manufacturing process.
Close up pictures of the fronts of the badges and a picture of the rear would help greatly ,regards Michael

Hello Gentleman,

Does anyone have examples of these two patches in their own collection for comparison?

Roy.
