Hello Frank. I just want to check it ticks all the boxes- wanting to check I'm not missing something against it. Bought for well under 3 figures, good if OK but the seller seemed to be a dealer, wondering if there was a reason for a low price. Regards, Paul.

Thumbs up

Absolutely terrible. Fake, fake, fake. But do send it to me as I’d happily take it off your hands for whatever you paid for it

Very well done Paul.

Cheers,

Luke

Well, if you bought it on ebay, from someone you do not know, the price would simply come down to the seller simply not knowing what he actually had, or certainly, the value, but, of course, he may well have made a profit.
A profit is a profit, even if only a small one.

Cheers Luke. This badge has the usual shape of slider you seem to see on all good examples- with what I think of as an 'alpha' dot dash crimp line. Do you know of any other badges that use this slider? I'll keep your offer in mind...Regards, Paul.

Thanks Frank. That's all I could think of myself, but with a badge I have never handled an example of, its good to put possible concerns to rest. Regards, Paul

Off top of my head re badges I’ve seen 1916 all GM Cambridgeshire Regt and the Ayrshire Yeo (IY style which was worn in WW1) on similar shaped sliders. I’m sure there are other contemporary examples. The dot-dash crimp is something which I don’t recall them having, however, I’m sure my Cambs does have a feint crimp mark.

Hopefully Paul doesn’t mind me using his pic to demonstrate. I’ve brightened it up and drawn a red line just under to highlight.

I like it, I'll have it if you don't want it.

Mine also has a dot dash crimp, I had never noticed it before.
