Default 2 FRENCH? BADGES FOR ID PLEASE

hi all
these 2 badges came in a big lot i just purchased.
are they french and any idea what they are?

The first is a 1990 Austrian commemorative badge for a "winter run"

The second certainly appears French. The Crescent would usually indicate that it was for Muslim colonial troops - no idea which unit.

3rd Zouaves Regiment (3eme Regiment de Zouaves) apparently. An Infantry regiment of the French Army. Formed 1852 disbanded 1962. I have no idea of age or authenticity of this piece.

these are usually distinctive insignias worn on a pocket fob.

Hi bc, having looked at the 3rd Zouaves, it's very,IMHO a copy. I have posted a link to show what an original looks like.Looking through the badge you can see the N/S attachment pin.

Maker: Drago Paris H.131 (lugs).


Maker: I. Balme Saumur. (flat back, pin back).
