Default Glider Pilot Regiment insignia ...

Hi good morning ,
hes a photo of an officer in the Glider Pilot Regt on his wedding day , of interest are the tunic buttons on his breast pockets the fact they are of different size , can any one offer any insight please ?
is this a unit distinction ?
he could i suppose have lost a button or had it pulled off in the officers mess as part of a prank and this was the only spare he could obtain but just woundering if this may be done deliberate ?
interested to here any opinions ,regards ,Nemo.

Hi Nemo,

Super photo, thanks for showing

The button on the left pocket appears to be of the correct, smaller size, unlike that on the right which appears to be of the same size as the larger buttons used to fasten the front of the OSD tunic.

Certainly not a unit distinction, most likely just a hastily done job using whatever was at hand.

Cheers,

Kev C
