Badge Maker's booklet 1975
Hi
My first post in here, I think. If there is any interest, I can post the whole lot of pics of this 1975 Badge Maker's sales booklet. Just a little paper 6.5in x 4in stapled affair of 32 numbered pages. It would appear M. Azan & Sons are still in business at the same address....well, not West Pakistan now. regards Darrell

Not dis similar to my 1974 Edition ( which came from a Forum member ). I cannot help but think that it anyone took up the offer of "Badges Exchanged ", the Azams would have got the better part of the deal.
P.B.

Catalogue
I to have one somewhere, I also had a follow-up letter which I think I binned as it insinuated that I should send money for the bumper load of badges I was to receive.

Hi
There we go then. No hens teeth here. Here's the other images. Rob(s), Tim and Peter, thank you though for your input. Without actually asking if you are "old", are yours come by back then by you? I find it a neat little thing (more so now to see that they still exist!) but I was just shy of 10 yoa when it came out. regards Darrell

Hello Darrell,
I did get a copy of the catalogue in the 1970`s but the one I have shown the picture of, I acquired only a few years ago. I seem to recall that the Azams advertised quite a bit in the UK in the 1970`s and I think I did order some badges from them but when they came they were a load of old rubbish. Peter

I met one of them in person on a military fair in the Middle East in the 1990s.
Placed an order. Paid him. Items never received. |

I think cast and then anodized?
Does anyone have an example of a Canadian badge made by Azam?

I think the first pattern Kings Regiment musicians helmet plate was made in Pakistan ( and I have always presumed by the Azams ) the back plate was sand cast using an officers ( pre 1914 ) helmet plate to male the mould, the did not even fill in the holes where the scrolls would have been attached and the centre was a rather nasty anodised type collar.
The badge was soon replaced by a badge similar to the other ranks Home Service Helmet plate but examples of the first type have now become fairly rare. P.B.
