Question Slidered Scottish Badges?

I must have seen thousands of Scottish Cap Badges over the years but never these two with Sliders, until now of course????

I am happy that both are genuine, they show no sign of ever having had lugs?

Were they for a particular form of headdress? Or just have sliders because they fit on to the cap easier?

Again your thoughts please - Andy

I've seen a KOSB with a slider before and was told it was from WW1 and made for wear on the foreign service helmet for soldiers posted to Dardanelles if memory serves... I think it may have been Peter Taylor who told me this, I'm sure he'll put me straight if I'm mistaken.

Cheers,

Luke

Default Scottish badges with sliders ?

Hello again Andy, Luke,
I too have seen a K.O.S.B.'s with a slider and again, there were no signs of lugs being replaced etc, I'm a little narked because I thought it was wrong and although a good looking badge, I got shut of it for about £3.00p
All the best,
Dave.

Hi Dave,

The genuine ones are rare as hen's teeth but they do repro 'em so don't beat yourself up about it there's a chance it was a dud like you thought

All the best,

Luke
