Default Queens Royal Regiment (West Surrey) OR's SD cap

Other ranks SD cap with OR's cap badge on a slider and regimental buttons, correct ors chinstrap with metal buckles and the body of the cap made from the lesser quality wool typical for OR's caps and the green skiver underside to the peak. Dating to the interwars period so hard to date exactly but post 1921 and pre 1950 I think from changes in the badge and pre WWII from the form and construction of the cap.

It is named but is not clear as to what it says.

It could be DA RSM or DARSIN?

That's a nice one Jerry, looks like RSM, from what I can make out with the old wobbly camera work there. You been taking photography lessons from me?

Hi Jerry,

It looks like a 1922 pattern hat to me, an item that went out of use (less the guards and the RMP I think) with the introduction of Battle Dress and the khaki side cap so I think your spot on with the interwar period.

Kind Regards,
