Default RWR,Officer's badge.Unusual and interesting repair done.

A Scully-marked,multi-piece Royal Winnipeg Rifles Officer's badge that had the lugs cut and replaced with a crudely made and crooked slider. Why?????????
Any thoughts on this.

That's how I got the badge years ago...I don't know why the lugs were replaced with slider...as for it being on an angle, it may have been so that they could access the pins holding the "black Devil" . As I mentionned in the listing, quite often it ould be removed when cleaning the badge to remain tarnished keeping the "black" devil intact.

Hi Dwayne, another reason to have the lugs replaced may have to do with using this badge on a SD cap and not wanting to make two holes in the cap, a slider is a lot easier to use by making a small cut in the cap band.BTW nice lots that you have for sale.

Thanks...The battledress jacket in partticular is very unique...and very nice. The matched pair of triangle patches and the other titles are a result of 15 years of fairly aggressive collecting.

Hopefully all of this goes to a good home...

It would be a real shame if it went to someone just trying to get the better stuff so he can resell it in a few years.Hope to see you 19 April 2009 at the next Ottawa show.
Cheers
